Our Patents

Why 9,922,561 and 9,922,562 Are Our New Favorite Numbers

What do the first Apple iPhone, the sewing machine, toaster and LEGOS all have in common? Their inventors were awarded patents, enabling them to turn their ideas into products that forever improved how we live, work and play. We’re proud to report you can now add the MyPark self parking reservation system to that list.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has officially issued Patent Numbers 9,922,561 and 9,922,562 which cover all aspects of the system and technology behind the MyPark service (if you’re curious, Patent Number 1 was issued on July 31, 1790 by President George Washington to Samuel Hopkins for a process of making potash, an ingredient used in fertilizer).

If you follow the links above to the full patent applications and scroll all the way down, you’ll see just how long and arduous the application process can be. The filing dates are February 19, 2015 and October 5, 2016. We didn’t receive the patents until March 20, 2018. So, we want to give special recognition and thanks to our two Miami-based attorneys, Rob Suarez and Will Trueba, for leading us every step of the way.

And, their work continues. In addition to these two patents, we hold US and International Trademarks for the MyPark brand and other US and International Patents Pending.

Of course, we have not been sitting idly by waiting for the patents to arrive. The MyPark service has been up and running since 2013, and we have installed our technology in public and private parking garages, malls, and other locations throughout South Florida, Minnesota, New Jersey, California, Georgia and Puerto Rico. Thousands of consumers have downloaded our iOS and Android app to eliminate the headaches and wasted time of trying to find a parking spot.

But the patents are critical to our continued growth, particularly for our franchise partners. MyPark has virtually no competitors, and these patents will ensure that we provide our partners with the technology and support they need to grow their businesses.

In addition to franchising, we offer a number of ways for companies who own and operate mall, garage and parking lots to become partners to earn additional revenue and raise the satisfaction levels among their customers and tenants. We can now guarantee that we deliver a system that no other company can replicate, and that creates a significant competitive advantage for us and all our partners.
